Cymraeg (Welsh Language Blog Posts)

The Grow Social Capital website is not a bilingual website. All standard content is published in English. However, staff members may occasionally publish a blog post written entirely in Welsh.

Welsh language posts use the Cymraeg category to separate them from English language content. Posts with this category assigned do not appear on the standard blog page at growsocialcapital.org.uk/blog/.

Instead, Welsh language posts are displayed separately at:

growsocialcapital.org.uk/blog-cymraeg/

There is no language switcher on the website — visitors who want to read Welsh language content must navigate directly to the Cymraeg blog page.

  • The Cymraeg category must only be used if the post is written entirely in Welsh
  • If a post mixes Welsh and English, it should be published as a standard English blog post with an appropriate category — do not use Cymraeg
  • Cymraeg must be the only category selected — do not combine it with other categories such as Communities or Leadership and Change
  • All other steps for publishing the post are the same as a standard blog post — see Adding a New Blog Post for the full guide

Follow the standard Adding a New Blog Post guide. The only difference is in the Categories step — select Cymraeg only and leave all other categories unticked.
