Social Capital in the News
The Social Capital in the News category is used for posts that report on or link to external news coverage about social capital. It works differently to the other categories — selecting it reveals an additional mandatory field that must be completed before the post can be published.
For all other steps, follow the standard Adding a New Blog Post guide. This page covers only the additional step specific to this category.
The News Article Link field
Section titled “The News Article Link field”When you tick Social Capital in the News in the Categories panel, a new section appears below the content area labelled Social Capital in the News, containing a field called News Article Link.

This field must contain the full URL of the external news article being referenced — for example, a link to a newspaper article, a report, or a broadcast page.
Rules for this field:
- It is mandatory — the post cannot be published without it
- It must be a complete URL including
https://(e.g.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/example) - It must link to the original source of the news item, not a search result or social media post
- This field only appears for this category — it is not used anywhere else
Paste the URL directly into the field. Once completed, continue with the remaining steps in the Adding a New Blog Post guide to set your meta description and publish.
